Let's Play Poem by geraldine roux

Let's Play

Let’s play make believe
Let’s play pretend
Let’s play house house
Let's let's let's

Come and join me
In a game of emotions
Where we can convince
Ourselves and others

And when the grapes turn sour
And the party is over
We can stand back and say
It was only a game

Let me keep my emotions
And you keep your manners
Let me keep my heart
And you keep your most precious

Let’s play without a care
For it’s just a game
To see who has the upper hand
To make sure of a winner

No need for sharing
No need for caring
Today we play together
Tomorrow we play against each other

We check all our feelings
By the door
No place for tears
No place for regrets

We smile at each other
But our eyes are blank
Our souls are dead
We are losing this war

But I am weak
For I struggle to send you away
I cannot tell you imp through
I have to persevere

Let’s play with each other
Let’s see who gets hurt first
It’s all fun it’s all a game
You fall down and get back up

Come on now don’t be shy
Let’s see who can win
Let’s see who feels less
Let’s play let’s play let’s play
