Let’s Go Back Poem by Amitava Sur

Let’s Go Back

Rating: 4.5

Are you listening my dear-
It’s evening now,
The sun is setting fast
Darkness will be looming all over the wood.

Now stop playing this hide and seek game
Come out from behind those trunks of the trees.
Don’t run around, and move too far,
Come back fast and don’t giggle anymore.

Hold my hands and let’s go back now,
It’s enough and enough of your game,
Come out of the wood now, I can’t see you yet
It’s getting darker and darker now –
You come and hold my hands and let’s go back.

You get so frenzy with this darkness
And get so much afraid of this,
You will scream, you will shout,
You will shiver and make a scene out of it.

Hold my hands and let’s go back,
It’s enough and enough of your game

Playing hide and seek in a forest after dark, a good way of not being found. Perfect imagery of death, when you look for your love, insisting that she come and hold your hand, yet she cannot. Not wanting death to play this game with you any longer, having had enough, just wanting your love to be found and brought back to you. This is an amazing picture of how death keeps our loved ones from us when their lives are ended on earth. Very poignant and tender, poem, Amitava. Beautiful expression of your feelings hidden in this forest of poetical words. I give it many 10's!

Very good Amitava. Reminds me of the hide and seek games we used to play as children. No time for games right now lets get serious. I love this.
