Let Me Live Poem by GORDON GILHULY

Let Me Live

Rating: 5.0

let me live in the suburbs
of your moon - sybarite amid
the silver blackness: your
sensuousness blackness, love, night's
garments spread out to dry upon the
bushes of darkness: holy darkness
in its voluptuousness

let me hold you in the lapping
heart of the night-swallowed
sea your breasts, soft birds
in the breaths of rising midnight
the nearly forgotten twilight diaphanous
on the sweet fecund swells
of child, lover, mother

let us lie within each other
love; the journeying stars above
tiny tears of ecstatic fire, our
souls rise, sweetly, floating up
against the iridescence, travelling
away into the lightening heavens
like balloon that have escaped
from the hands of children

sprays of trumpets filigree
the air; music of angels too
cool to ever be cast out, as we,
eager and hesitant, become the
constancy of cycles born yet
again in the rising and falling
of the world

we are filled with the burning
moon; we are become the dark
smell of seaweed, the musk of
mud and sunlight; our love
is a journey through waters
and stars - two bodies infinite
in a single sweetness, the
double helix of the dance
the continuation

our kisses, love, travel to our
infinite edges and wanton fire
transmuted by joy becomes the
seed of our creation: the
ultimate conflagration, the
ultimate light in the darkness

Living life with sweetness of memories, pleasantness, love and light of wisdom is great definitely with perspective of perception. Light wins darkness. Wisely penned poem this really....10
