Lesbian Sonnet Poem by Dee Snuts

Lesbian Sonnet

The secret about me that no one knows
I love the feel of a woman’s soft skin
The way it looks when a woman’s hair flows
I want to know the beauty held within

When I was young, my parents said it’s wrong
To like someone like you was in fact sin
I could tell in that time I did not belong
And there was no way I could ever win

But then I met a girl who changed my life
With hair like the night and eyes like the dawn
If it were legal I’d make her my wife
But who would visit, our families are gone

I love this woman and I will forever
And like I say, better late than never
