Leaf Poem by Rich Harney

Leaf

Rating: 5.0

I turned the leaf over
Again and again,
Each vain creaked
A brittle red crackle.

I stopped at the yellow
I stopped at the hem
The brown had it's lover
In speckle.

I peer this soul kitchen
By night and by day,
Do air out and in
by opposing.

And water tight pearls
Coming down as she furls
And what if by sweet
She's composing.
