Leaf 3 - Peepal Leaves Poem by Geeta Radhakrishna Menon

Leaf 3 - Peepal Leaves

Rating: 5.0

The leaves of Peepal - a protection,
To its stem - like an umbrella,
To its roots - a gentle covering,
To grow and strengthen,
To become an exemplary creation!

Delicate leaves tender and soft,
Dancing to the tune of the wind,
Dainty, heart-shaped leaves,
Dipping, tapering into a slender tail -
Dynamic tail of wisdom!

Humming leaves that sing a song
Heaving with the sensitive breeze;
Hailing the Vedic hymns of the
Highest truth,
Heralding the glory of God!

Beautiful leaves branching into a huge canopy,
Bowing down with humility,
Beaming leaves that sprinkle joy,
Bubbly and joyful,
Beckoning Peepal Leaves!

Thanks a lot Kumarmani ji. Again, leaves are a rare subject for a poet, unless you are deeply interested in the creations of nature. Feel so happy that you dug out this poem from the list. Very kind of you, Sir.

Beautiful poem. With its religious significance a peepal tree is revered so much. Nice drop.

Delicate leaves tender and soft, Dancing to the tune of the wind, Dainty, heart-shaped leaves, Dipping, tapering into a slender tail -........................ So true to reality! I have a Peepal tree close to my house. From my kitchen, I get a neat view of it. It is so beautiful to see its lush green leaves fluttering in the breeze and it is a welcoming sight to start each fresh day! You have described the leaves in all their beauty!
