Laura Poem by Pamela Ascroft

Laura

LAURA

Incandescent butterfly!
Gossamer wings glittering with delicate steel lattice, velvet strength.
Daughter of Eire who answered when Miriam's timbrel beckoned.
Simple grace in passing, she is Terpsichore.
Muse at once vibrant and idiosynchratic;
Rose-petal wisdom dances in her summer-eyed visage.

Boundless heart, kaleidoscopic vista of mind;
Flawed diamond, prismatic reflector of light within and without.
Experience touches intuition, invites with kindness,
Steps boldly forward and subtly back.

Unparalleled. Incomparable.
Beautiful.
Laura.

Absolutely wonderful descriptive poetry of both inner and outer beauty, choice words placed as gems!

A series of beautifully worked images like a kaleidoscope effect. Very unusual style and much appreciated. Is Laura your daughter? A straight ten from me. It is poetry. There is often more poetry in this format than in regular verse. This is certainly the case with your piece, Tom Billsborough

Thank you so much! I so appreciate your feedback. Laura is a dear friend, though I do have a daughter :)
