Laughing Sheep Poem by Matt Johnson

Laughing Sheep

Based on Psalm 100 (The Message)

The sheer beauty of our God just takes our breath away
We can not sit, we must now stand, to give to Him our praise
The laughter and the thankful singing we give to You
You’ve brought us home O loyal God, all you’ve said was true

All we like sheep had gone astray but You brought us together
You kept us safe and led us through all that we would weather
When we were weak you carried us so freely with your love
So thank you dear Lord, thank you for our home with you above

Author notes
Psalm 100
A Thanksgiving Psalm
1-2 On your feet now—applaud God! Bring a gift of laughter,
sing yourselves into his presence.

3 Know this: God is God, and God, God.
He made us; we didn't make him.
We're his people, his well-tended sheep.

4 Enter with the password: 'Thank you! '
Make yourselves at home, talking praise.
Thank him. Worship him.

5 For God is sheer beauty,
all-generous in love,
loyal always and ever.
