Las Vegas means 'The Meadows' and
Was named for all the greenery
Due to springs in this desert land
Seen by a Spaniard, scouting be.
The meadows going over time,
Replaced by steel, concrete and glass,
City built and run by mob crime,
And vices and sins came to pass.
With glamor and with glitter still,
The city spins to wheel and deal,
Ever hopes and dreams to fulfill,
The fantasies so rarely real.
Mother Nature did lose this ground,
Only human nature be found.
