Lady In Bed Poem by Pen Anthony

Lady In Bed

I wake up
The room too bright
To open my eyes
I find my way to the bathroom

I rinse my face
Oh the stench
From my mouth
I brush my teeth

Eyes barely open
I walk back to the room
There she lay
Sound asleep

I thought to wake her
But couldn't remember her name
There she lay
Naked - as i were

There she lay
A stranger
In a familiar position
Deja vu?

She must have felt
My eyes on her
As she did wake
Our eyes locked

There she lay
A lady in bed
My bed
A lady not mine

Smiling
She dressed
On her way out she said
You already paid me.
