La Vie En Rose (Life In Pink) Poem by Monique Leo

La Vie En Rose (Life In Pink)

Life in pink, or so they say
Because purple seems more like grey these days.
Lavender planted in garden at the front, along with the hyper leaves dancing in the sun
Strangely in the midst of this painful winters month

Greener the grass may appear
To the insignificant lover that got away,
Dreading the pain experienced all from yesterday.

And so in May, when one lonely tear sheds away
She listens to La vie en rose across the way.
With a heart so sunder
The pink, grey and the thunder
To think a moment ago she wanted to be 6ft under.

And by the soul she sways
Why can't it always be this way?
Life in pink, would not be so pink all without the grey.
