Kraken Poem by Patrick Fealy

Kraken

Jesus now is stirring
a Kraken comes to shore
all the priests in Peters' bark
will hear the ocean roar
It seemed like He was sleeping
and Neptune ruled the waves
Not one word came from his mouth
and not a man was saved
The best lacked all conviction
upon the bounding main
driven by the winds that fanned
the fire from the flame
Now the men are sea sick
bent over the rails
Someone wake the master up
The crew has gone to bail
walking on the water
way out on the waves
The master of the universe
has come to free the slaves
Hurry then to greet him
Notice not the wind
or the the depths will drink you up
to quench your thirst for sin
put your trust upon Him
Easter while you may
Love is in the will to want
not where feelings lay
From Him now all the graces flow
Sleet from moon and stars
Worthy are the chosen ones
who come to wear His scars
Seconding his coming
Lighting up the flame
bowing to the Virgin Queen
who lullabies His name
