Knowing When To Leave

I saw the tear
Upon your face
In your eyes
I saw no trace
Of the love
We use to share
Now all I see
Is an empty stare
It seems at times
We can't let go
Of the love we had
That no longer shows
Time can be an enemy
More than we'll ever know
Sometimes we fool ourselves
Because we stay, when we should go
