Knight In The Scaffold Poem by Emmanuel George Cefai

Knight In The Scaffold

knight in the scaffold
dangling head
and body
windows that light and
off
intermittent as aChristmas
tree
walking scaffold on a
turgid sea
sea full of slimy toads
that swim
waters dirty with unmoving
birds
ship and vessel of
multi-colored birds
capsized on the waters...
waters that rise
as founts
and fall
waters that light
water that crystallize
in mid-dar
thaw and waters
hoar
all dancing
wild, wild eyes that
look through gratings
at night
in the night of nights
and views all the above...
birds that pendulum like
move with a pendulum bulb
in the gripe of their
small trembling feet
of desperate hold
ah! the night
O Earth
O Mother Earth
ice that breaks from
glaciers
falls and swims
listless and indifferent
towards Patagonia...
night clouds that
frown
moon that scowls
drear
drear
drear
why?
was not the day drear enough
as so many days?
blue bird of the forked
feet
walking hobbling
yet walking
walking
walking
lights whose particles
dance and crystallize
in as proportion direct
and then re-transform
to melting blue light
waters
drop by drop adjacent
in the frames reference
contiguous:
ah! beauty how many wonders
ah! beauty
how many wonders
a coffin without feet
walking in mid-air
in cemetery in
the roads dark and
grave
in deep night
after mid-night but
time-calculating before Dawn
O Earth
O Mother Earth
