Kings Without Restriction Poem by Emmanuel George Cefai

Kings Without Restriction

In the sub-conscious we were
Kings without restriction
And made this made that
And over above the Laws
Were of the Conscious;
We played with lightning
And we roared with the
Thundering:
Our hearts with glory were
Breaking
Our hearts were gardens where
The nymphs, fauns and naked
Satyrs jumped and held their
Feast;
For night was at our feet
We saw from the corners of
Our eyes, angled
In to the sub-conscious
Fell we more and more
And life drank the wine of
The sub-conscious more and more
Till one by one all the chains
We saw one by one
One by one we became as gods
The same with the Gods,
The same with the Bird's eye-view
The same with the thundering:
The same with lightning
The same the way the way
That we roared over seas and
Heights:
Beyond, beyond, shouted the
Great Philosopher
More, more shouted the Poet Seer
Erect
Faster, faster shouted the satyr
Naked.
The water were wild and sweet
Of Lethe ah! how we
Drank
How the trees of the gardens we
Were in
Hazier and hazier became
Inthat carousing!
We looked as One and
We were as one
White birds large wings
Were flown and flying
Their eerie screams echoed
Over the mass universe,
The heavens.
Things were things and mists were
Mists
Snow-capped the horrid mountains
Where we found there
Of snow
We ate the mellow ice just as
Ice-creams
We that had the fires of
The night in our hands
We that had the lights of the
Night
We that kept the lights burning
In our hands
And the music played and
With the lights we turned
The lights in hands accordingly
And proportionately
We
We had the light of Prometheus
We danced with nymphs
Danced
Naked as the satyrs naked
On graves and tombs at night
Before
Their broke the fires bright
Of sweet Dawn the eyes:
We that is the I of me
