Karo biral
Raati mei
Apana mei jhagara karik
Matik kotha se kude cche
Gaon ke ghup andheria mei.

Eerakam jhagada karecche ki
Daraway diyecche,
Kudik bhagecche jore she
Jalala ankhik saath.


The black cat
In the night
After quarrelling with
Jumps from the dingy second storey mud house
In the all around nocturnal darkness of the country.

Quarrells in such a way
That frightens it
Jumping to flee away
With the burning eyes.
