Kaleidoscope Poem by Shivapriya Surve

Kaleidoscope

There, I spot us…
caught in a web
of words brash and bashful both
Here I watch us strange and quirky
…apart; yet tied fast with an oath.

Here, we bathe in a sylvan mood,
The distance growing just skin-thin
There again a border grows,
severe than the gravest sin!

Then I watch us weary, pale;
wayward with the wanton stream,
hoping soon to wake up fresh,
past this psychedelic dream!

As I see it, this one talks about getting caught in routine and then knowing that the change is imperative but still resisting it, that's us. Love your style of writing! Preets

As Asma says, 'The only constant in life is change.' I'm reminded of the Mother Ganges (as some people in India refer to the Ganges River) as a metaphor for all life, both animal and human in this poem. Lovely work. Shane

the only constant in life is 'change'... you have used a very relevant analogy...and its beautifully pieced together... Asma...
