Kala Ghoda,
Kala Ghoda not the black dark horse
Of Kolatkar
Nor the lal ghoda, red grey horse
Of Kolatkar
Nor the imagery title of his,
But the statue built by
Albert Abdullah David Sassoon
But part from it there is something more,
The whole complex and locality
Named so
With the old-time buildings and mansions
looking over Kala Ghoda,
Roads diverging,
The Arts Festival arranged
With stalls, festivity, galleries,
Music, song, art, competition and discussion
And intermixing it all
His art-life, experiences and visits
Kolatkar writes it Kala Ghoda,
But whose ghoda is this
Of Edward or of Shivaji,
Of the builder or of Kolatkar?
