I stood there all alone
Looking into the night sky
Wishing I had some one to spend life with
Hoping it could be you and I

Knowing you could never love me again
I never wanted to be just friends
You asked and asked and still I denied
Everything you said was a lie!

As time goes by, people change
Nothing ever stays the same
Friends come and go and life moves on
But baby my love for you is unwaverin'

So there I stood all alone
Looking into the night sky
Looking, searching for someone to hold on to
And hoping, just hoping, it could be YOU and I
