Just Sleep. Poem by Tshiamo Ngwenya

Just Sleep.

sleep little heart
don't let the night wake you apart.
sleep broken heart
don't let memory tear you apart.
Do nothing but sleep.
Do not think but just breath
Do not silence but just sing
for the world will chew you apart.
Hope not to grow
dream freedom alone
for no one else can ever love you
better than yourself.
May you let the towers burn
and the bridges collapse.
let the rivers flow
and the breeze blow,
for the inevitable is hard to change.
sleep little heart
sleep broken heart
and just hope for everything to be alright.
