Just More Empty Promises

With deceptive words, my promises hide.
I'll profess to erase your weighty plight,
Deny your size, claim you're slender and light.

When pain grips your soul, and self-harm takes hold,
To embrace the agony, your heart unfolds.
Will I stand by, patiently await?
Yes, I declare, though truthfully I vacate.

A pledge, spoken in vain, without a care,
To feed your hope, your trust, aware.
When reluctance grips my very core,
Inside the sun's embrace, I'll stay no instead.

Should another claim my heart's affection,
I'll linger near your abode, in reflection.
Recall the liberties you once bestowed,
Though I won't, I'll claim it, as our bond's code.

Despite my empty words, so grandly expressed,
Know that true commitment lies unaddressed.
For even though I promise, I admit,
My hollow vows, unworthy of your spirit.
