Julius Caesar Poem by Mary Cieslak

Julius Caesar

Rating: 5.0

Whose name's uttered most in the street,
Whose heart had no nobler a beat,
Who moved all men unto their feet?
Caesar, ho! Caesar!

With pow'r an' might he won the land,
Yet none hath no gentler a hand.
`Tis proof of the people's demand
As they cry: Caesar!

Although the flesh is long and gone,
Whose name hath lived on and on?
Who in this tragedy been wronged?
Hail, Jul'us Caesar!

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

'Although the flesh is long and gone' we remember Caesar trusted his body, his mind was its good companion. Let's get bodies livin'.
