Jonathan Poselthwaite Poem by Phil Soar

Jonathan Poselthwaite

Jonathan Poselthwaite lived on a boat
With a parrot in a cage, and a small nanny goat
The goat had a twitch, and it fell overboard
The parrot had a beak that was sharp as a sword
They all lived together, but not any more
The nanny goat drown, and Poselthwaite swore
"Why didn't you tell me the nanny goat drown? "
He said to the the parrot, with a really sad frown
The parrot looked up, chuckled and said,
"It ate my pyjamas, and is better off dead! "
