There is a transformation
It goes like this:
From birth of civilization
And our own selves
Believing we're doomed
We slowly realize we may survive

We have ulterior motives for holding onto our original thought
These are the goop what makes it all interesting & worthwhile
This is generally the heart of story we tell
This is the source of conflict
This is the source of spirit, religion and cult
This is the beginning and end of love

Here is an example
Found on the wall of a tunnel
Underneath the city of Izmir
It goes:

'Long before I met you
We were such a pair
Two birds held in amber

Died before our time
I got so excited
Twice you called
Twice ignored

We were such a pair
