Joey Poem by Dragon Crenshaw

Joey

My dear Joey,
I miss you more.
You've passed on,
And now you're gone.
I wish you were here,
In my arms.
I wish you were alive,
So we play outside.
I cry every night,
Wishing it was me instead.
But I have learned,
Wish don't come true,
For someone who you loved.
My dear Joey,
So sweet and playful.
My tears roll down my face,
Looking for my baby.
When my tears can't find you,
Down they go,
To be splashed on the ground or sheet,
Where you once laid.
My dear Joey,
My sweet little kat,
If you were here,
That would be the best.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I lost my cat Joey when I was seven and he was the best cat ANYONE could have. If I pulled his tail, when I was little, he'ld turn around and kiss my nose. I would just laugh. I miss him very much.
