Joe's Unemployed Poem by Joyce Hemsley

Joe's Unemployed

Rating: 5.0

Joe's back to front and inside out,
his head spinning round; what's it all about?
They left him stranded on the shore
They didn't need him as before...
Away has gone his schoolboy smile,
and his heart is crying all the while.
With a mind so full of fear and doubt
He feels that he could scream and shout.
There will be no dream of love tonight
His mind will be on: supersonic flight,
High technology and outer space,
'Short time working' - the saving grace!
