Well he's always where you need him
Long before you know you do
And he'll shoulder any burden
For his need to help is true
And somehow his simple blessings
They will help you to go on
But when you look to thank him
You will find that he has gone

For our God has given wisdom
To this kind and simple man
Who has made it his life's mission
To help his fellow man
And it matters not their statute
They could really be quite small
For this gentle man's a hero
Who stands fully ten feet tall

I have watched him tend the dying
And help animals give birth
And for just the love of family
He would try to move the earth
Everything he has he'll give you
Then he'll ask if you need more
And i've seen him toil and labor
Till his body's tired and sore

And I don't know how to thank him
I don't even think I can
Just the gift of his great friendship
Make's you be a better man
And I pray when his life's over
And those pearly gates he sees
That his God wiil bid him welcome
And say ' Son come rest with me '

'For your earthly toil is over
All your battles you have won
You have earned this seat in heaven
Welcome home, my son, well done! '
