My jealousy falls uncontrollably
upon your world of beauty
a dew makes a flower exaggerating
an amber grasp them into forever holding
oh, lucky me, you don't see
my world of infertility
and allow me with generosity
to decorate my heart with this jealousy
Years! Oh years will yield, an amber me
with you within, enriching, enchanting...
I've never read a poem about jealousy that has as many dimensions as this one. The speaker admits her jealousy and doesn't try to defend it. She also admits it is the positive qualities of this person that attract her; she takes her memory of this goodness, preserves it in amber for a future date when she can appreciate it - presumably without jealousy. There's a moral lesson in your poem that shows us a way beyond jealousy if we patiently do the work of recovery. You healed yourself!
I regard jealousy as a good one as long as you can realize its optimism. Children always behave jealousy very naturally and frequently, that means they eager for the better things of others, better dress, better toy, the same with grown-ups, better house, better car. But when we jealous of other's virtue, there will be a great possibility for us to become a good self.
A wonderful short poem with deep feelings. Some beautiful lines that I loved reading: 'a dew makes a flower exaggerating' - - 'Years! Oh years will yield, an amber me with you within, enriching' - -
