Jack Poem by Heidi Fiore

Jack

As the Autumnal breezes whipped our faces
The smell of cinnamon spice filled the spaces.
Leaves fell all around us
As we harvested fruits and nuts.
And I was filled with complete ease
As I breathed in the fall breeze.
The day had been filled with magical bliss
Far beyond I could ever wish.
As he and I sat back to back
I thought of the fun I had had with Jack.
Our games, and hard work were still all fun.
It was sad to see the day suddenly done.

I rose toward the purple horizon before me
And I took a deep breath in all I could see.
We then started to walk towards the house light
And the warmth and glow was peaceful and bright.
But before entering through the door
I turned to see that Jack wasn't there anymore.
He seemed to vanish in thin air
And I was left just standing there.

I went through the door, all by myself
Jack was gone and replaced by no one else
But to this day I know that Jack
Is sealed in my heart with a special pact.
While Jack has and will have a place in my life
I move forward into where the magic is mine.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This is a poem that I had to write for my creative writing class. It is about my childhood imaginary friend/brother. I would really love people to give me feedback on it. I really liked it, but I feel like it needs something else.
