It Was Time Poem by Ray Hansell

It Was Time

She came into my life unexpectedly
Like the sun after a rain
Seeing her smiling face
I knew I'd never be the same

All the love she felt inside
I knew was just for me
All the time I spent with her
She always set my spirit free

The way she came unexpectedly
That's the same way she left
Not a single word was spoken
It was probably for the best

All she said, was that it was time
I knew just what she meant
I got up from my chair
I just turned around and went

There was no need for wasted words
Our talking was all through
I felt that turning and walking away
Was the only right thing to do
