It Takes Two Poem by Ray Hansell

It Takes Two

I'll never speak badly of you
I'll never put you down
I'll never spread unthruths
About you all around

I'll never tell lies
I'll never make things up
I would make a toast to you
As I drink from my cup

You once meant the world to me
But todays finds us apart
But you'll always have a special place
Here inside my heart

Others will never know
Just what I feel for you
They'll never know all the things
That you and I have been through

I have nothing but respect
Along with the highest regard for you
Even though in my heart
I still am feeling blue

But it takes two to love
It takes two to disagree
So why would I put the blame on you
When it could have been me

But at least we both moved on
We've forgotten our rocky past
I think maybe now as friends
It looks like it's going to last

We have come so far
From where we once were
It seems sometimes in life
Things become a blurr

So I'll not forget
The years you gave to me
My only regret
Is that we just couldn't be
