It Starts With One Poem by Jesus Castorena

It Starts With One

They are all around us
Silently killing us one by one
We can find them at our schools or on the bus
When you finally do some you think it's fun

You take one puff
You say you won't do it again
You say your tough
Then you went from one puff to ten

Five years later
You're living on the streets
You lost your job as a cater
Now you have to fight o survive
Doing any job for some money
So you could stay alove
But you buy them and now you can't afford and honey

It's your 21'st birthday
Your home is a coffin
Yesterday was your last puff
Before you saw the door dropp down
And the cops run in and your not so tough
And all you did was frown
When you pulled out a gun and pulled the trigger
Then they shot back
Let them take you alive wouldn't you figure
But the bullets hit you and went through your back

Now your not so tough
You couldn't even say goodbye
And no one has tears for you to cry
