It's Time To! Poem by Brandon Williams

It's Time To!

There is a hurricane headed our way,
It's time to evacuate,
That word made my stomach flip,
"It's just a trip, "
I tell myself,
We will be right back,
Now what we've got to do is pack.

Leaving through that door,
Seeing my stuff still on the floor,
This leaving my hometown is making me crazy,
Luckily I'm not stuck.

Okay, here we go,
But where,
To Pensacola my mom tells me,
It's hot here and cramped,
Wait what is that on the tv,
No it can't be!

Why it is my city,
In the depths of the water,
How much farther do I have to go,
Now Georgia,
At least we can stay here.

Even though I am safe here,
I still have fear,
That another Katrina will happen over here.
