It's My Mind Not Me Poem by Kelvin Rush

It's My Mind Not Me

My mind is cunning deceptive contrite
An unscrupulous humongous parasite
Right now I accept I will never know
It's my mind not me that spoils the show

My mind is a bully that leads me astray
It tortures and devours me day after day
It's persistent and resistant and won't let go
It's my mind not me that spoils the show

My mind is a bitter twisted old fool
Ravenous compassionless arrogant and cruel
Crushing all joy with one fatal blow
It's my mind not me that spoils the show

My mind is brutal callous unclean
Devouring my confidence shattering my dream
My mind will never let me go
It's my mind not me that spoils the show

My mind is greedy selfish immature
Crying like a baby so insecure
No understanding of you reap what you sow
It's my mind not me that spoils the show

My mind is deadly destructive self-loathing
A raving schizophrenic demanding and controlling
Despite the delusion it continues to grow
It's my mind not me that spoils the show

My mind is conditioned to live in fear
It won't allow me to question or interfere
It feeds off pain with a constant low
It's my mind not me that spoils the show

My mind is not who I really am
No future or past no woman or man
My mind is my nemesis my friend and foe
It's my mind not me that spoils the show
