It's Him. Poem by M.A. Ces

It's Him.

I dare not open my eyes
Seeing him, my demise
Every touch, every kiss
Is that of the boy I miss
Different time, different place
Same boy, different face
Same pain when he’s gone
But it’s not too long
Before I lose my voice
And do it again, as if I have no choice
Because it’s him in every guy
Believe me; I tell no lie
The pain only he can make me feel
Each time more painful, more real
He leaves; he’s gone
A few months later, he comes along
Again
And I knew it was him
Even then
Different time, different place
Same boy, different face
And it’s me
Time and time again I believe
Because it’s him, in his eyes
Him, he caused my demise
And I find him again
I knew it was him
Even then
The familiar cold in my heart
Makes me wonder why I chose him to start
He haunts the eyes
Of every guy
And it hurts so much when he leaves
I fall to my knees and beg him please
I don’t want to lose him but I don’t know why
Because he’ll come along with a different face, but it’s the same guy
I know it’s him
Hidden somewhere within
Every body that has contact with mine
It’s me and him; our fates intertwined
Disgust and disdain: what I feel for me
Because it’s a different face; how could this be
But it’s him
I’m a slave to him
I let him do what he wants to me
Because it’s with him I’ll always be
