It Is The Silence That Tells Whatever Truth There Is. Poem by RIC BASTASA

It Is The Silence That Tells Whatever Truth There Is.

you live
with her throughout your
life

she cooks well
washes your clothes
irons them out

she keeps the order
of the day
the matters of the
house
she commands and
you obey

when asked if you
love her
you answer evasively

she cooks well
she washed the clothes
and irons them all out

you are asked if you
love her
and you smile, and leave

it is the silence that
tells
whatever truth there is.
