I have been with you for the past six months
But please explain to me
Who told you, my darling
That love is supposed to hurt?

You treat me as if I am your shining star
Until you have had a drink
Then comes the hitting and the pain
Which makes me truly think

If the intent is to show me you love me
You apologize so dearly
And say horrible words to me that
My mind can't think clearly.

If you don't love me, let me go
So I can go on with my life
But you claim you love me so much
You want to make me your wife.

I love you, indeed I do
But I am not sure
If leaving you is the answer
Or if staying is the cure.
