Is It Time? Poem by Phil Soar

Is It Time?

It's been quite a while, since she just raised a smile
If she ever has raised one before
And though she is ninety, and not feeling sprightly
Her body has shut the front door
Though her time's running out, her extremities shout
"I'm worn to the point of distress"
And her memory suffers, like a train's hit the buffers
And leaves her a bit of a mess
If she's medically done, it quite hard to go on
And though smiling is something unknown
Her daily routine, is more like a bad dream
And the pain that she suffers has grown
So maybe forgiving, the way that she's living
Would help the way everyone sees her
When god sets the time, then the timing's just fine
For it seems that is all that would please her
