Iron Teeth Of Cement Poem by Emmanuel George Cefai

Iron Teeth Of Cement

Iron teeth of cement

Granite recording of the motions that occurred: progressed

But
What the difference be
Between what occurred: progressed
And
What to occur: progress?

Remember, there be relativity.

Remember there be transformations,
Loud and thin and
Relative sound.

This be a place where sea-waves
Fill
And inside come

This be a place where statues of raw rock
Shine golden in the darkening skies
And
Hum boredom in the night-dew pains.

This
This an island be.
Antitheses so-called sit here on the low hills
And pitch themselves on plains wherein they
Walk
Benighted in the shades and light of moons
But the, remember, that antitheses so-called converge.

This
Be the place where Figures giant shriek
Atop the low hills and their steep inclines
Place their hands on their ears
To mitigate the piercing of the sound

Decide yourself o roaming Man
But then as you declare
To absolute moments you be fixed
That be not relative.

Ears are projected on the look
And giant eyes rotate in the heavens immense

Bar not the Orchestra of Weirdness that has come.
For nights will soon fall for all time on these lands.
