Iris Osiris Poem by Richard D Remler

Iris Osiris

.........

Iris Osiris invented the Iig,
That brilliant gem at the tip of a twig
That hides deep inside like a wee little Elf.
Yes, Iris invented that all by herself!

And Iris Osiris invented the Snoot,
That clever odd something that fits in a boot,
Always unseen except when you peek.
Yep, Iris Osiris has had a good week.

Iris Osiris invented the Knid.
Oh, I know what you're thinking,
But she really did!
She invented the Knid last Tuesday at three,
Down in her Lab where nobody could see.

And her Knid does that one thing a Knid likes to do
When you're looking at it and it's looking at you,
And you notice it tick when it's trying to talk,
So it hides in embarrassment under a rock.

She invented that dibbling thing that you find
When you're changing those strange little thoughts in your mind,
In those moments you're certain you've thought a good thought.
And you can thank Iris for that a whole lot!

And, of course, she invented the plop in the knopp,
That integral part of an Eye-Lollipop!
Without it the Lollipop would not have an eye,
And that's not a something that I'd want to try.

Iris Osiris invented the Ood,
An incredible jewel oft misunderstood.
It is nearly as grand as a Halloween Bean,
And just one of those things that can never be seen...

Though I've seen one or two
As they hid in her shoe
While she played with her gum
On the tip of her thumb.

She invents things, she does, every day of the week.
Why, she's inventing a something right now as we speak.
Because she's a brilliant tinker, that's just what she is.
She is Iris Osiris, our Wiz of a Wiz.
