Intoxication Poem by Cassie Picariello

Intoxication

The notes, the sounds,
The stanzas;
A beat to crack the icy ground.
The music to my soul.
A need to survive;
Bringing happiness to the bowels of hell,
And showing signs of life,
In a vacant, barren land.
We are the deceased;
Although our hearts are decayed,
Our spirits soar,
And bring intoxicating joy to the suffering.
