Into Orbit Poem by Kewayne Wadley

Into Orbit

Rating: 5.0

Tonight there will be no anxiety
As the stars appear as goosebumps
across the sky.
Soon it'll be time to say goodbye.
Goodbye to everything we couldn't say before
Everything that seems to come out
When you're not around.
I don't want to go if you're not here
To experience it with me.
Grab my hand
I'll lead you into orbit.
Where my eyes see more than just how you look.
Past the stratosphere where our rocket
Has pierced & taken off.
If you get scared hold me tighter
I don't plan on leaving your side.
The angels skip stones across the sky
Rippling to another reality.
A side of us that we've yet to experience.
I don't want to go if you're not here to experience
It with me.
To connect & understand on a different level
To discover & discipline ourselves in faith
Just past the stratosphere where our rocket has pierced
& taken off.
Grab my hand & come with me.
Tonight there will be no anxiety
as I don't plan on leaving your side.
Goodbye to everything we couldn't say before
