Into A Child's Eyes Poem by Michelle Wright

Into A Child's Eyes

Looking into your eyes, it makes my heart ache,
You're looking for happiness in a world with lots of hate.
My Darling, My Dear,
I'll surround you with all my hopes, with no fear.
Looking for a reason your world is not right,
Screaming and yelling isn't a way of life.
Hold on my darling I'll make things better,
Love and trust will never wither.

Their no reason why your world shouldn't be safe,
I'll carry you across monster filled lakes,
Climbing the hills holding your hands,
My darling, My child,
Open your blue eyes, see the world through me,
Don't be afraid, walking side by side,
We'll make it indefinitely.

So here we are my darling child,
With miles of road still ahead,
How do you feel, driving away your fears?
If only you can speak those words, that's in your head.
Gazing into your deep blue eyes,
No need to guess,
I see, I hear, what you feel.
Now it's time to rest.
