An humble tribute to William Wordsworth: (1770 – 1850)
When I was young Wordsworth hood-wink(ed) ,
At his deep delved ideas I couldn’t drink.
When of this Priest of Nature now I think,
His dazzling depth just makes me blink.
The Truth in all its nakedness he saw!
Lesson’s from Nature he could draw!
Guide to child and youth, to age a straw,
Narrated awesome beauty without a flaw.
Now I can proclaim aloud,
I am out of the sordid crowd.
I wander lonely as his cloud,
The meanest flower now makes me proud.
Now I love the Sun and Shower,
Now I am in the Nature’s bower,
Now I know who is a lover,
Now I know life is for ever.
Immortal is he and his spontaneous song The cuckoo, reaper, all around throng “Find tongues in trees, books in the running brooks, Sermons in stones and good in everything…” Genuine tribute to the pioneer of Romantic Era.
Lovely tribute to W. Worthsword, with its own worth and truth here.
Enjoyable write, penned with much truth and thought, Wadsworth would have been prowd.......
Wonderful, with age knowledge and understanding, if we seek it out...10 Peace and Love Linda
I wandered lonely into the secondhand book shop with thoughts of Wordsworth and there the only book under W, The Prelude. Wonderful! ! ! ! ! ! ! John
