Instrumental In An Aqua Sky Poem by Judith Vriesema

Instrumental In An Aqua Sky

The rhythm of snow tossed winds
weave their enigmatic magic through my heart
colliding with the aqua of a tumbled sky.
In Iceland,
you walked through my soul carrying my life with you;
love a silent dance that still takes me to the edge of your grin.
Music captures mirrored sun-lit waves,
and parallels a heart I drew for you upon winter's sculpted beach;
the notes arriving in a sequence to join with
love's star-scattered light.
The past runs to find streams of motion;
your voice curving through space and time to hold me
in the arms of dreams
where waves break over tumbling after-thoughts.
The edge of your smile waltzes with words we never spoke nor needed to create.
Love flew underneath an umbrella of orange clouds
and seagulls who rhymed with abstract circles.
Like concurrent rhythm in a song,
I felt the sea of your smile surround me with outstretched arms;
embracing the moments as they fell into a series of beautiful instrumentals;
light following the edge of love that followed the edge of dance.
Within the music of your words,
love was carried to the edge of the sea by transparent golden wings,
and pure emotion composed the life of an afternoon's winter wind.
Closing my eyes,
I held out my arms to embrace your soul in an aqua instrumental of sky.
