I'm looking for an understanding
And looking for myself
Life can be so demanding
When it comes to mental health

Dreams of a child
Heart aches of an adult
This world has driven wild
As innocence comes to a hault

Looking back to your past
Looking at where you are now
Your parents wish you didn't grow so fast
You in a way, wish you didn't, but you did and don't know how

From the color of your hair and eyes
To the amazing color of your skin
You're different from every other in shape and size
You're different from your identical twin

So keep waiting where you are
And keep making that same sacrafice
Because you have come so far
But it is only the beginning of you eternal life
