Insecurity Poem by Alana Ballantyne

Insecurity

You have been with me all my life
At first, it was a whisper, saying "im right"
Beckoning sweetly to impressionable ears
Then it was a call I would head for years.

Take your lies take your pain
Take your hurt, it's your gain.
Take your deception and beguilement
Take all you used in my torment

Take your anger, Take you rage,
Take this bloodstained rusting cage.
I've lived within its bars for far too long
Everything you did to me was wrong.

Take your hatred, take your vanity.
Your sadistic twist shall not be my sanity
Take your fear, take your doubt,
With these words, I cast you out.
