Insanity Poem by Karl McAreavey

Insanity

Relentlessly they nag on and on
Tiresome chattering from dusk until dawn
From the incessant murmurs there's no release
Drugs nor alcohol fail to make them cease

Constantly reminding me of times long gone
Interrupting intermittently singing an old song
No way to escape the ghosts of the past
Live in hope that they surely cannot last

Permanently reminiscing its driving me mad
Sounding to everyone like my mum and dad
Unable to move on I ache to be free
The voices talking just wont let me be
