Innocent Souls Poem by Ophelia Clark

Innocent Souls

Let your innocent soul descend into the depths
Of your own fears.
Welcome the Phoenix across the land
As every creature turns to die
Only to awake into an endless ice.

Let your innocent soul creep away into tragedy
And dropp poison over the skies
As the stars run away to hide
And throw the orb of luminescence into the air
And will the eerie glow sweep the earth.

Let your innocent soul accompany the weary
And rattle your chains and bones.
Greet the black knights who guard
The everlasting home
Of those innocent souls.

Let your innocent soul sink into the tomb
And leak the color from thy lips,
Chill the fingers and toes,
And dust the ebony onto the once blood-red roses
Which had given you joy.

Let your innocent soul kill the sound
And echo it to the sea,
Where cascading waves of ice
Eat away at the land
Where you lay.

Let your innocent soul melt away
Like the thorny roses that gave you joy,
And mourn the life you left behind
To sleep forever until I come to you
On All Hallows Eve,

Where our innocent souls will disappear into everlasting light.
