Incubi Of The Vacant Poem by Ankit Damani

Incubi Of The Vacant

little brown spheres
overlapped by larger grey ones
bubbling with the frantic flatness
that I find myself trapped in today.
then light: blinding yellow arrows
waiting for nothing
reaching me before I do
and splitting each atom into two.
I see myself now and laugh
being the one watching makes the self-loathing disappear
at
least.
now melancholy: floating blue nothingness
warm nebulous waves of wisdom
delicately shifting my bleeding ear
from one hinge to the other
im hanging on
all of me is
on a hinge that has begun to creak
the creaking isn’t dampening
the screws are loosening
I am falling
into the vacant
incubi.
